Delco Bar, Palawlibrary Reach Deal |
|
The Legal Intelligencer Published: June 6, 2003 Palawlibrary, the most comprehensive and thorough online legal research service dedicated to Pennsylvania law, and the Delaware County Bar Association have reached an agreement to provide specially priced subscriptions to this online service as well as other benefits to bar association members. The relationship will help bolster content on the bar’s own Web site. The agreement was reached late last month. It is the first signed agreement between a bar association and palawlibrary.com, an online service resulting from a strategic alliance between Jenkins Law Library and American Lawyer Media-PA. Regina Smith, director of Jenkins Law Library, commented, “We are delighted that the Delaware County Bar Association has recognized that palawlibrary.com is an essential research tool for Pennsylvania lawyers and that it is now one of their membership offerings.” The agreement provides for additional benefits for bar association members including discounted subscriptions and books. The bar association will extensively market the product to members. In addition, under the agreement, the bar association will receive content from ALM that the bar can provide to members either by e-mail or by direct posting on its Web site. “We’re proud to have secured such a valuable member benefit as palawlibrary.com for our members,” said Elizabeth C. Price, executive director of the Delaware County Bar Association, and Tracy E. Lochetto, director of communications and public relations for the bar, in a joint statement. “We think this agreement will aid our members in their practices.” Marjorie Weiner, president of ALM-PA, said, “The Delaware County Bar Association has been a friend of our organization over the years, and we are pleased that we are able to help the association bring another benefit to its members. We are looking forward to the day when we can offer similar programs to other bar association members in Pennsylvania.” Palawlibrary.com is an integrated, Pennsylvania-focused legal research Web site that provides easy and inexpensive access to judicial opinions, trial listings, court rules, news archives from The Legal Intelligencer and Pennsylvania Law Weekly, and other legal information. For more subscription information, visit the site at www.palawlibrary.com. |
