Wired’s Listening Post blog today reports on the compact disc’s 26th birthday. Unfortunately, the article pronounces CDs dead: “Because there is nothing faster, or better, than purely digital music fired across the internet’s synaptic network.” Maybe … maybe not. Untill all digital music is DRM-free, you run the risk of having your tunes evaporate, as users of Yahoo Music have recently discovered. |
