At Least They Have Bing!

TechCrunch reports that from March-June 2009, Internet Explorer’s U.S. market share dropped 11.4% to 54.4%. Firefox has 27.6%. Looking at the data from StatCounter this morning, I see the following breakdown (which differs from that reported in the article):

Browser U.S. Worldwide
IE 54.8% 59.7%
Firefox 32.3% 30.9%
Safari 7.6% 3%
Chrome 3% 2.9%
Opera About 6 people
are using it
2.8%

Note that the numbers are pretty consistent betweet the U.S. and the rest of the world with the exception of Safari (higher in the U.S., as you might expect since Apple’s located here) and Opera (bigger worldwide since Opera’s from Europe).

It wasn’t that long ago that I was trumpeting the fact that Firefox had hit 20% market share.
