Recapping Apple’s music event on Tuesday, September 9:

• Steve’s back – “As you may know, I had a liver transplant. So I have the liver of a mid-20s person who died in a car crash, and was generous enough to donate their organs. And I wouldn’t be here without such generosity.” Glad he’s doing better, but at least one picture made him look, well, bad. Jobs later told David Pogue of the NY Times that he needs to gain about 30 pounds, but he’s “eating like crazy. A lot of ice cream.”

• iPod Touch – It’ll be cheaper and faster. So what? … You might as well get an iPhone for what you’re paying for the Touch.

• iPod Nano – You’ll be able to shoot video and listen to the radio, too. But no camera, sorry. All for $150 (8GB) – $180 (16GB). Not a big deal as far as I’m concerned.

• iPod Shuffle – Price drops to $59. Whoopie!

• iTunes LP – iTunes 9 features extra stuff such as album art and music videos. Again, not a big deal for me. And apparently I’m not alone — Devin Coldewey of TechCrunch bloggs, “Somebody Has To Say It: It’s Time For iTunes Lite“. (”For god’s sake, Apple, all I want to do is play my music.”)

I’m glad I just worked in my garden all day.
