Internet Ethics

Instructor

Dan Giancaterino

The PA Rules of Professional Conduct state that "A lawyer must act competently to safeguard information relating to the representation of a client against inadvertent or unauthorized disclosure." Today's technology makes this even more important, yet at the same time more difficult. In this 1 hour hands-on CLE class, you will learn:

  • How you can use Secure (https) mode when accessing wifi networks in public areas to hide your emails and Web searches from others
  • Techniques to protect your firm from viruses, worms, trojan horses, spyware, and phishing attacks
  • How to manage personal information such as Web history, cached pages, and above all, passwords
  • What metadata is and how you can remove it from your documents

Provider:
The Pennsylvania Bar Institute, an accredited provider under the Pennsylvania CLE Board's Rules, will serve as the CLE provider for this course. The course has been approved by the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board for 1.0 hour of CLE credit in ethics.
