    Features historical quotes back to 1972; search by Ticker Symbol, then click on Historical Quote. Here's an example for General Electric for August 25, 1972.

  • DailyFinance, AOL
    Features business and financial news and analysis.

  • E*TRADE
    Provides stock quotes and market news. Also allows you to perform stock transactions online (must set up an account to do so).

  • Earnings Whispers

  • Earnings.com, Thomson Corp.
    Provides live Webcasts and online replays, investment event calendar (earnings releases, conference calls, splits, dividends), management presentations, and more. Covers more than 4,500 public companies.

  • Google Finance
    For each publicly-traded U.S. and Canadian company, the site features a draggable stock chart plotted with news stories; corporate events (which can be added to Google Calendar); "bubbles" containing officer information and picture, plus links to bio, compensation, and insider trading; lists of related companies; and blog posts.  Historical stock prices (back to 1970) are available (example: ticker MSFT for August 1995) and can be downloaded to a spreadsheet.  Real-time NASDAQ stock quotes added June 2008.

  • MarketWatch, Dow Jones
    Features historical quotes back to 1970; search by Ticker Symbol, then click on Historical Lookup. Here's an example for IBM for September 28, 1971.

  • Morningstar
    Features information on stocks, mutual funds, variable annuities, closed-end funds, exchange–traded funds, separate accounts and more than 500 college savings plans. You can also search U.S. publicly-traded companies to get 10 years of financial information and news articles.

  • Motley Fool

    Historical quotes go back 10 years.
