New Pennsylvania CLE rules for 2015

Beginning in 2015 the Pensylvania Continuing Legal Education ethics requirement will be raised from 1 hour to 2 hours. (The annual CLE requirement will remain at 12 credit hours.) The distance learning option has been increased to 6 hours -- now you can take half of your required credits from your home or office.

We have to rely on other sources of funding, such as the tax on court filing fees (way down this year), to make up the rest. That's why we're launching our "Above and Beyond" campaign. When you complete your 2014 Jenkins membership renewal -- which you should have received in the mail -- we're asking you to round up your payment so that we can use contributions above and beyond membership dues to help keep Jenkins strong.

Jenkins Law Library Video Tip (Episode 201307): Firefox lets you protect your saved passwords with a master password. Google Chrome does not, calling the master password a "false sense of security" given that a skilled hacker who gets access to your computer will be able to extract whatever information he/she desires. That's true -- but a master password is still good protection against the other 99.9% of the people who want to snoop at your information.

Jenkins Law Library Video Tip (Episode 201305): Google Chrome v.27 upgrades Google's voice search capabilities. Now you can have a "conversational search" with Google, and it can understand a lot of the context involved in your spoken searches. It's a baby step towards the Star Trek computer of the future.
