An Introduction to Legal Risk Management (Webinar)

Our free CLE webinars are available to Jenkins members only. Join Jenkins today to enjoy this member benefit and more!

"Where were the lawyers?" With each headlined company scandal that question is consistently asked by regulators and the public. This CLE will explore the importance of in-house counsel's legal function within a company’s risk management framework.

According to the International Bar Association, Legal Risk is the exposure to legal, financial or reputational loss to an organization, primarily caused by:

  • Defective transactions;
  • Claims (including a defense to a claim or counterclaim) which results in liabilities;
  • Failure to protect assets, such as intellectual property; and
  • Failure to monitor, asses and comply with regulatory changes.

There are some aspects to conduct risk (i.e., ethics) at issue as well.

Come to this one-hour CLE webinar to get tips on how to properly assert legal risk management into an organization’s risk management strategy.
