It's a Context-Dependent Decision: Free Speech and Protecting Students (Webinar)

In recent months, the media has been reporting on the problems that private colleges and universities are having applying institutional free expression policies. They are apparently having difficulty balancing the need to comply with Constitutional and other legal mandates that permit robust free expression -- even offensive speech -- on the one hand, with other legal mandates to protect students from harassment and hostile environments. Focusing on a recently filed complaint, this program discusses how a private college or university could or should strike this balance.
