COVID-19 News: Temporary Physical Space Closing; Remote Access - Click here for our Board President’s Full Message

The Philadelphia First Judicial District has issued a significant but limited closing of the Philadelphia Courts through Friday, May 31. Jenkins’ policy as to operational hours has historically been guided by the decisions of the Court. When the Court closes, so does Jenkins. As such in light of present circumstances, Jenkins will be temporarily closing its physical space starting on March 17 through June 30, 2020. Starting June 8, staff will be working in the library updating resources, filling requests for onsite materials and planning for our "staying safe" reopening to visitors on July 1, 2020. In the meantime, don't forget to reach out to our reference librarians for research assistance.

Jenkins’ has prepared for this possibility and will be operational (between the hours of 8:30 am to 6 pm) along with its dedicated staff – remotely. All staff will remain employed and engaged and will return phone calls and emails providing the best possible services under the circumstances to our members and the public. Be sure to leave your name and phone number should you leave a message for staff.

We remind our membership of our significant remote services which include, telephone (215-574-1505) and email (research@jenkinslaw.org) access to staff, research through Fastcase, HeinOnline, ProQuest Congressional, Law Journal Press, LexisNexis Digital Library, Briefs and Records, and much more.

Please note, any books already borrowed will not need to be returned during this physical space closure and any overdue charges will be waived.

Once again, we remain dedicated to serving our membership and the public. On behalf of the entire staff and our Board of Directors we continue to wish you, your families and coworkers well.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact either of our Co-Executive Directors, Ida Weingram (215.574.7935, iweingram@jenkinslaw.org) or Nancy Garner (215.574.7944, ngarner@jenkinslaw.org).
