PA Courts' Infographic: Beware of School Zone Safety and Traffic Citations

  •

September is coming soon.  With that in mind, the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts (AOPC) has published their newest infographic: Back-to-School is just around the corner -- Beware of school zone safety and traffic citations. This infographic presents "key data and demographics about speeding in school zones or illegally passing a school bus". According to the infographic, there have been over 26,000 driver citations related to these issues between 2017 and 2021. Data comes from violations issued in the Magisterial District Judge System (MDJS) and Philadelphia Municipal Court Traffic Division eTIMS System.

The infographic references 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 3345 (Meeting or overtaking school bus) and 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 3365 (Special speed limitations). Looking for more information on these topics? Check out some of the titles we have in our collection, such as Pennsylvania Rules of the Road or Pennsylvania Vehicle Code Annotated: Law and Commentary.
