Search U.S. Tax Court Cases with DAWSON

  •

DAWSON (Docket Access Within a Secure Online Network) is the U.S. Tax Court's electronic filing and case management system. The system allows parties to electronically file documents and manage their cases. DAWSON also has a useful public search tool for locating U.S. Tax Court cases, orders, and opinions. The database includes cases filed on or after May 1, 1986.

With the Case Search, users can locate the docket of a Tax Court case. You can search for cases using the petitioner name or docket number. The Order Search and Opinion Search both offer searching by keyword, petitioner name, or docket number. When searching by keyword, basic connectors AND or OR are supported. Users can also use quotes to limit their search to an exact phrase.

Order and Opinions can also be searched by judge and date. The Opinion search offers the additional ability to restrict by opinion type. Opinion types include T.C., Memorandum, Summary, and Bench Opinion (Order of Service of Transcript).

Available documents are linked as PDFs from the search results page or the case docket.
