Pennsylvania’s Right-to-Know Law 101 (Webinar)

Pennsylvania's public records law is a vital tool for government transparency, but members of the public who are new to the Right-to-Know Law can make a number of simple mistakes that frustrate their attempts to obtain local or state government records.

This joint presentation by the Office of Open Records and the ACLU of Pennsylvania will discuss the nuts and bolts of sending a request, appealing a denial, and best practices at all stages. It is designed for any Pennsylvanian who wants to learn more about the RTKL, whether you are a community organizer thinking about how to use the RTKL as a tool for advocacy, a lawyer looking for other ways to obtain records for your client, or someone who wants a straightforward way to obtain documents from your local government.
