Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Prepares to Resume In-Person Civil Jury Trials

The Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas plans to resume in-person civil jury trials this month. Civil jury trials were suspended on March 17, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, with guidance from public health officials the Court has issued new protocols and guidelines to allow the resumption of civil jury trials. The new guidelines outline the jury selection process and the conduct of trials in City Hall. Protocols include the wearing of CDC compliant face masks, social distancing, and enhanced cleaning, sanitizing, and ventilation within court rooms.
