Jenkins On Your Desktop: State Bar Association Journals on HeinOnline

HeinOnline's Bar Journals Library contains over 80 bar association journals, many going back to inception. This collection includes federal, state, and local bar journals, including those from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York. The Bar Journals Library also contains American Bar Association journals and select federal and international bar journals.

State and local bar association journals from the surrounding Pennsylvania area include Delaware Lawyer (1982-present), New Jersey Lawyer (1957-present), New York State Bar Association Journal (1928-present), Pennsylvania Bar Association Quarterly (1929-present), Record of the Bar of the City of New York (1946-2009), and Washington Lawyer (District of Columbia Bar, 1986-2012).

American Bar Association titles include ABA Journal (1915-present), Bar Leader (1975-present), and Women Lawyers Journal (1911-2012). Federal titles include Federal Bar Journal (1931-1980), Federal Lawyer (1953-present), and Third Branch (1968-2012).

To access this collection, use your last name and member number to log into Jenkins' website. From either the Member Center or the list of Member Databases, select HeinOnline. Once in Hein, from the Subscribed Libraries list on the left side select Bar Journals. Hein defaults to a browsing option by journal title.

To search this collection, click on the Search tab below the HeinOnline logo. The search box will appear on the left side of the screen. This basic search will search all of the Bar Journals Library. To search a specific title, click on "Advanced Search" or "Field Search" and select the title you would like to search. For the most in-depth search options, use "Field Search".

Hein offers ways to "Refine your search", including by journal title, state published, and date, located on the left side of the results list. To run a new search or to modify your search, click on the "New Search" or "Modify Search" buttons above the search results.
