Lawrence J. Bozzelli, Esq.

There is no better teacher than experience. As a lifetime Philadelphian, Larry can trace his love for the law to a criminal justice class at the University of Pennsylvania. He began his legal career as a law clerk, training under the Hon. Anthony J. DeFino, one of the most experienced judges on the courts handling countless criminal cases.

Having spent his early years as a prosecutor in the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, he was focused on upholding the law and protecting the rights of victims. From there, Larry went on to work as a criminal defense attorney defending the rights of the accused. This unique blend of experience continually informs his perspective in and out of the courtroom.

While the primary focus of his practice has been in criminal law, he has also had experience in other areas of law including civil litigation, juvenile dependency and delinquency, appeals and PCRA petitions. These firsthand impressions have instilled in him the importance of always striving to be evenhanded, and to combine compassion with respect for the law.

After 18 years in the legal profession, Larry continues to fight for the rights of the accused in his role as a criminal defense attorney. Beyond his law practice and helping out with his son’s little league team, Larry has for several years taught Continuing Legal Education classes at the Jenkins Law Library, is a member of the Criminal Law Committee of the Federal Bar Association and has been an ongoing volunteer for Philadelphia Bar’s mock trial competition. Of note, Larry was rated as a Super Lawyer 2014-17. This rating identifies outstanding lawyers who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.

Larry is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
