govinfo, a service of the United States Government Publishing Office (GPO), provides a wealth of federal government information for free. This includes the United States Code (USC), the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), executive agency materials, Congressional materials, and much more.

govinfo provides helpful guides and tutorials to aid users as they navigate their way through the multitude of government documents available on its website.

Finding Information provides general tips on searching and browsing, including keyword searching, using Boolean operators, advanced searching, and searching by citation.

Tutorials and Handouts has a number of short video tutorials to guide you through govinfo. Most videos are 10 minutes or less.

govinfo also provides detailed help information for each collection. From the What's Available page, select the desired collection for a brief summary of the collection and the documents it includes, search details and examples, and related resources.
