The Philadelphia Code

The Philadelphia Code offers a subject codification of ordinances for the City of Philadelphia, with American Legal Publishing serving as the official publisher for the Twelfth Edition (2020). The Twelfth Edition returns to the practice of a comprehensive new edition every four years and has cumulative supplements every year between editions.  The print version of The Philadelphia Code is available here at the library and currently includes a February 2021 Supplement.

To help researchers, American Legal Publishing also makes the The Code accessible online for free. This searchable version tends to be more up-to-date than the print and right now is current through August 16, 2021.

Need to track a section back? Jenkins keeps older versions of The Code in our Rare Book Room. We have The Philadelphia Code all the way back to the First Edition, which became effective February 29, 1956.
